Wireless local loop design service from RTX

RTX Telecom has developed a wireless DECT wireless local loop (WLL) product portfolio for Atlas Telecom Network in Romania. The agreement is an ODM contract, making RTX responsible for mechanical design, development and -production.

Low cost and effective telephone service

This system will help provide a low-cost and effective telephone service to a large part of the Romanian population (21 -million) and eventually other Eastern -European countries, based on wireless -connections for individual -subscribers.

Wireless Stationary Telephone

Wireless Telephone Line Unit (WTLU) – makes any phone wireless

The Wireless Telephone Line Unit (WTLU) makes it possible to connect a fixed line PSTN telephone to Atlas -Telecom’s existing WLL DECT network.

Wireless phone connection – just insert the WTLU in the power outlet

The WTLU is connected to a power outlet, which provides the user with a wireless phone connection. The product supports incoming calls including CLIP and out-going calls using DTMF.

The telephone line interface will support DTMF for dial-up and a maximum telephone line length of 10 metres. The WTLU supports fax, GAP and modem.

Based on the proven RTX DECT protocol

The system will be based on standard DECT technology and will transmit the data in the DECT frequency band 1.8 GHz. The software will be based on the proven RTX DECT protocol.

DECT Indoor Repeater – with a 360° range!

The DECT Repeater is deployed whereever there is a need to extend the range of a standard phone. The repeater is capable of repeating the signal from a device (WTLU, handset or other repeater) to a repeater or a handset. The DECT repeater can also be implemented to establish -better or increased coverage in areas where coverage is limited or shielded from the base station.

Indoor repeaters with a range up to 1½ km

RTX4002D Repeater with external antenna with SMA/SMB connector. The repeater is equipped with two omnidirectional antennas with diversity with a gain of about 1.5-2 dBi (360°). The SMA or SMB connectors make it possible for the user to buy an external antenna and improve the gain significantly. RTX4002 Repeater, with two internal antennas with a range up to 50 m indoors.

DECT Outdoor Repeater – an impressive range of 15 km

The DECT Outdoor Repeater will be used for extending the range from the WLL DECT base stations to areas without DECT coverage.

Fixed advanced timing

RTX has been able to enhance the range up to 15 km, which is second to none. Fixed advanced timing sets a delay in the audio signal from the RF, thus extending the -signal from the normal 1½ km to 15 km.

Built-in directional antenna – gains of 3-4dBi

The two built-in directional antennas are placed inside the mechanical box and -connected directly to the PCB board. The repeater is built on DECT 6-slot techno-logy and will allow extension of two -connections. The repeater uses an internal 240 VAC power supply equipped to -connect directly to the power supply wires on the lighting poles.

Extremely water and weather-resistant repeater – impossible to break

The repeater is mounted in a specially developed water-resistant box which can also cope with extreme temperature changes. The mechanical box is approved according to IP 55.

Wireless Stationary Telephone

RTX Telecom is planning to supply a high-end stationary phone with built-in DECT function which works as an ordinary telephone but -without any wires to a phone jack.
