We offer highly skilled software engineering

In the short history of RTX, we have completed more than 500 development projects. In all projects software development has played a significant part in the effort. With continuous focus on process improvement we now have a development process that is lean, agile and flexible that ensures rapid development at minimum cost, will complete the project within schedule and is adaptable to customers that vary in organisation and maturity.

The RTX software process is an iterative process with four steps analysis, design, implementation and system test.

During analysis, focus is on capturing and understanding customer requirements. Some of the tools for this phase are use-case analysis, prototypes and system simulations. The above average communication skills of the RTX engineers is also a great asset in assuring that the project successfully captures customer requirements.

In addition to the traditional tools RTX employs, the design and implementation phases employ informal reviews and formal reviews using the FAGAN review technique. The main role of the informal review is to discuss design and implementation ideas and problems. We focus heavily on getting the right people participating in all critical design and implementation discussions and decisions. The main role of formal reviews is to remove defects.

System testing is often a cooperative process between the customer and RTX but our QA-department is fully capable of system testing the project in a controlled and measurable process that will bring the project to the agreed quality level.

The software process relies heavily on rapid prototyping and short process cycles made possible by mature configuration and change management processes.

Typical software projects span in size from 1 to more than 20 developers and to more than 500.000 lines of code (LOC). The RTX engineers have an average experience in software development greater than 8 years. Our main focus has been embedded software and for communication systems but RTX also has substantial experience in the development of DSP software and development of software for the Microsoft Windows platform (device drivers and applications).
