RTX2300 Smart ATE
The RTX Smart ATE is a highly competitive and cost/time efficient test solution for functional test in the manufacturing of wireless devices.
The Smart ATE reduces the complexity and size of the ATE system through the inclusion of modular instrumentation integrated into the test unit. The flexible nature of the Smart ATE enables a swift physical reconfiguration - in a matter of seconds, it can be reconfigured to accommodate different products and test types.
The Smart ATE is a multipurpose solution to simplify and cost-reduce the production test environment dramatically compared to traditional "rack and stack" wireless test solutions. This compact platform is intended for wireless device alignment and functional test (including CAT-iq, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth™ etc.) and integrates numerous test components. The shielding capability reduces the risk of interference between the test stations and the external environment. Thus it reduces the failure rate when used in the manufacturing environment.
The Smart ATE can be used for printed circuit board (PCB) as well as final product testing. It features a customization area that enables the interconnection between internal and external measurement functionality and the device under test (DUT), enabling easy customization and reconfiguration in the manufacturing environment.
The flexibility of the Smart ATE simplifies the customization of the test platform, and enables economical replication of the test solution and setup. A production test system can be implemented by using a Smart ATE in combination with an RF communication tester (such as the RTX2012 DECT/CAT-iq RF Tester or similar for other Wireless standards).
The design of the Smart ATE is based on the extensive experience RTX has gained though the development and installation of automated test equipment (ATE) systems since 1999.
Rear panel and customization area
The rear panel provides the connection to the external equipment, pneumatics and the Smart ATE power unit. The 25 pin Dsub provides the connection to addition external measurement equipment.
The fixture bay is prepared with the interfaces to the Smart ATE functionalities and external RF equipment. The signal lines are filtered and can be accessed either at the standard connectors in the bottom part of the fixture bay or the optional Quick Swap connectors.
