Design Services' project management is based upon the ISO9001-2000 standard, but project management always swiftly aligns to the customer project execution process in order to make co-operation as smooth as possible.
By maintaining a high level of information flow status reporting to RTX and the customer during each project, the project manager is able to optimise the decision-making process. The Statement of Work document contains a plan for project activities, including project phases, interim goals and milestones. Minutes are taken at all project meetings and current progress is monitored against planned projections. The meetings also involve a review of the risk involved to enable the project manager to launch any preventive or corrective activities that may be necessary.
Day-to-day coordination is based upon an approach that teaches the project participants to seek information, present solutions, make decisions and prepare action plans. The project manager and participant can consult the RTX quality assurance handbook, which contains checklists for all projects phases. The project plan, project documents and practical solutions are reviewed in an innovative day-to-day process with project management engaged in a maintaining dialogue with the project members and the customer.
