Key Features:

  • DECT and WLAN coverage analysis
  • Mapping radio coverage in Google Earth Tool
  • Indoor coverage functionality
  • Netstumbler interface

The deployment kit is used in the planning and installation stages of the RTX Wireless IP Network .

The kit includes:
1. Deployment program: PC tool which collects the RSSI from the Hardware and plot it on maps
2. Deployment handset/signal measurement module: that measures the RSSI of DECT base station on air
3. Test base station
4. WLAN dongle that measures RSSI of DECT/WLAN base stations
5. GPS module

The signal measurement module and GPS module are connected to a laptop PC, running the Deployment program. This program receives the GPS coordinates, and signal measurements (up to 40 measurements per position), and then plots them into a Google Earth file, mapping the actual network coverage.
The kit also supports indoor use (no GPS); i.e. it is capable of mapping network coverage within buildings.

In addition, the Deployment program supports loading and interpretation of Windows Netstumbler files to Google Earth files, thereby making it possible to map the coverage of a WLAN network in Google Earth, using the Deployment program.

The Deployment Windows program also has a built-in functionality, to calculate and estimate the actual GPS location of devices in the network (when saving the measurements to Google Earth).
