The SNMP Manager (Simple Network Management Protocol) module used in the Wireless IP Network solution is CastleRocks’ SNMPc Manager. It uses SNMP management protocol to poll IP DECT Base-stations, Sync Switch Units, CCFPs and UAs over IP networks.

Other functions of the SNMP tool include:
   • Monitoring network activities
   • Generation of notifications and alarms when network problems occur (For e.g. Allocated resources,       VDSL/GPS synchronization status and quality, voice quality (jitter, packet loss), etc.)
   • Generation of Trend reports (regular data collection, status reports)

The tool achieves this management and monitoring functionalities using RTX’ management information bases (rtxMIB). rtxMIB is a proprietary information type of database that specifies management of IP DECT network attached device subsystem using hierarchical (tree structured) namespace.
